Babington church

The church is about 50 metres east of Babington House. It was built circa 1750 and is considered to be in the style of churches designed by Christopher Wren (1632-1723). In the 1880s and again in the 1930s concerts were held at Babington House to raise funds for its restoration.  It is now managed by a charitable trust distinct from Babington House and does not hold regular services. It has been designated as Grade I by Historic England. There are some memorials in the churchyard surrounding the church but the main part of the burial ground is a roughly rectangular plot east of church.

The parish itself is part of the East Mendip Benefice which also includes Coleford, Holcombe and Kilmersdon.
