Newly acquired collections

News
Over the summer we have taken in a number of significant collections.
Historic nurses register

These include records of the Royal United Hospital and Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, including some early nurses training registers (see below). The Preliminary Training School for Nurses was established at the Royal United Hospital in 1939. We now have three registers which contain detailed information about each nurse who trained at the hospital up until the 1960s.

We also accepted deposits from Argyle Street Chapel (United Reformed Church) which is closing soon and Bath Cycling Club founded in 1880, one of the oldest and longest running cycling clubs in the country.

Bath Record Office is a Place of Deposit for public records which include those of hospitals, courts and other official bodies. We also encourage donations and deposits from religious, charitable, business and sporting organisations, all of which help to tell the story of Bath & North East Somerset through its communities, institutions and culture.
