Deaths: Monday evening a little boy age 3 was left locked in an underground kitchen with an infant in a cradle by his mother whilst she went to get water. Child went too near the fire & was so badly burned he died next morning. The infant uninjured.

News: a farmer of Norton St Philip driving cattle down Radstock Hill to Buckland Fair, a bull took fright & leapt onto the roof of a house belonging to Mr Young & fell into a room where Mr Hill, a tailor was working. He leapt into the road unhurt, but pulleys needed to extricate bull through roof
