Publications: letter [ironic?] from France - English use water to wash houses & furniture, use mops & scrubbing brushes, wash their linen with soap (makes linen smell!) often wash face & hands etc, clean table cloths & napkins, but suggesting French are superior to English in cleanliness, cooking etc.
