Finance: ## Bristol magistrates determined to enforce law against persons refusing to take gold coin that is upright weight. Existing law allows imprisonment for this. They have erected a standard beam in the [Bristol] Council house for determine the true weight of refused gold coins.

News: accidental shooting - Thursday, a man at Keynsham had a gun in his hand & did not know that it was loaded. He directed it towards a young man nearby incautiously drawing the trigger, the gun went off & wounded the man in a terrible manner, that his recovery is despaired of.
